Charlie Lovett served as conference chairman for this gathering of Lewis Carroll scholars and enthusiasts in 1994 and also edited this volume of proceedings, which includes two short essays by him. Conference participants came to North Carolina from Japan, England, Sweden, and across the US and Canada. The volume includes essays by Morton Cohen, Christina Björk, Selwyn Goodacre, Edward Wakeling, Francine Abeles, Anne Clark Amor, Donald Rackin and many others.
