To mark the centenary of the death of Charles Dodgson (1898–1998), the Lewis Carroll Society of North America published this authoritative collection of Carroll's obituaries and related pieces, edited by Charlie Lovett and August Imholtz, both former presidents of the LCSNA. Includes all the major (and scores of minor) obituaries, as well as information on memorials established after Carroll's death. Lovett contributed a lengthy essay, "Charles Dodgson and the Year of his Death, 1898," as well as over 400 footnotes. Many of the myths that persist to this day about Lewis Carroll can be traced to hastily written obituaries, and this collection provides a rich resource for anyone studying Carroll .
